Tetra-Staph - 10 pcs.
Production of tetra-staph was discontinued at the end of 2024.
We are aware of the following alternatives - our recommendation is at the end of the text below
(in any case, perform the catalase test and confirm the staph group beforehand):
Medium 1/2 (half plate MH-Agar, inoculated with germ as for agar diffusion, with Bacitracin ~ "Bacitracin Agar")
> You need MH-Agar MD2472 and MD1007085 (Bacitracin 0.04 U/ml 1x50 discs for agar diffusion)
Medium 1/2 (other half plate MH-Agar, inoculated with germ as for agar diffusion, with Novobiocin ~ "Novobiocin Agar")
> You need MH-Agar MD2472, MD100880 (Novobiocin NOV 5 µg discs for agar diffusion)
Medium 3 (BD Mannitol Salt Agar) > You need MD2485. The yellow coloring for coagulase-positive staph is as usual, the colony coloring for coagulase-negative staph is red vs. pink for AUROSAN tetra-staph.
Evaluate after 24h incubation, if no growth, evaluate again after 48h (24+24).

Switch now to a modern system - RiliBÄK and EUCAST compliant - for microbiology in your practice / laboratory.
(Please note: several non-EUCAST compliant systems from China are currently being offered on the market with the label "Rapid evaluation in a few hours". We strongly advise against them.)
