OAE Screener
The examination of Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) is an objective measurement method.
The outer hair cells of the inner ear can be stimulated by a loudspeaker located in a small probe. The sound (emission) emitted by the hair cells is measured by a highly sensitive microphone, also located in the probe, and analyzed in the OAE screener.
If OAEs are detected, hearing impairment above 30 dB is unlikely.
TEOAE screenings can be performed as early as the U2 preventive medical check-up.
More detailed information on the different OAE screeners can be found in the respective product description; we have compiled an overview of the portfolio for you in a fact sheet.
