Tetra-Staph - 10 pcs.
The production of tetra-staph was discontinued at the end of 2024.
We are aware of the following alternatives - our recommendation is at the end of the text below
(in any case, perform the catalase test beforehand and confirm the Staph group):
Medium 1/2 (half plate MH agar, inoculated with germ as for agar diffusion, with Bacitracin ~ "Bacitracin-Agar")
> You need MH agar MD2472 and MD1007085 (Bacitracin 0.04 U/ml 1x50 sheets for agar diffusion)
Medium 1/2 (other half plate MH agar, inoculated with germ as for agar diffusion, with Novobiocin ~ "Novobiocin-Agar")
> You need MH agar MD2472, MD100880 (Novobiocin NOV 5 µg discs for agar diffusion)
Medium 3 (BD Mannitol Salt Agar) >You need MD2485. The yellow color for coagulase-positive Staphs is as usual, the colony color for coagulase-negative Staphs is red vs. pink with AUROSAN tetra-staph.
Evaluate after 24h incubation, if no growth, evaluate again after 48h (24+24).

Switch now to a modern system - RiliBÄK and EUCAST compliant - for microbiology in your practice / your laboratory.
(please note: several non-EUCAST compliant systems originating from China are currently being offered on the market with the label "rapid evaluation in a few hours". We strongly advise against this.)
