Replens™ - simply vaginal moisture
Replens™ is a hormone-free, moisturizing vaginal gel that quickly relieves the typical symptoms of vaginal dryness (burning, itching, discomfort during intercourse) in the inner intimate area.

It was specially developed for women suffering from vaginal dryness - mostly due to a changed hormonal balance, e.g. during menopause, breastfeeding, after childbirth, gynecological procedures or during cancer therapy.

Thanks to its patented, bioadhesive gel formulation, Replens™ forms a protective film on the vaginal skin and works for up to 3 days. The moisture balance is restored, and at the same time, the suppleness and lubricity of the vaginal skin are increased - for vaginal well-being.

Recommended use:
Replens™ should be applied every 3 days - preferably in the morning. If necessary, you can apply it less or more frequently, up to once a day.

Replens™ is very well tolerated and, thanks to its water-based formulation, can also be used with condoms made of latex or polyisoprene, but not polyurethane.
Ready-to-use single-use applicators enable easy and hygienic application.

What is Replens™ and what is it used for?
Replens™ is a moisturizing vaginal gel with a 3-day effect. It relieves symptoms resulting from vaginal dryness and atrophy (tissue regression) such as itching, burning, and discomfort during intercourse.

In case of vaginal dryness, Replens™ restores and stabilizes the balance of vaginal moisture.

Due to its bioadhesive gel formulation, Replens™ forms a moisturizing protective film on the dry vaginal skin for up to 3 days, providing it with what it lacks: moisture.

How does Replens™ work?
Replens™ adheres like a protective film to the inner vaginal wall for several days and gradually releases the water contained in the gel. This moisture is absorbed by the vaginal skin, increasing lubricity. In addition, the Replens™ protective film prevents further drying out of the mucous membrane.
The pH value of Replens™ corresponds to that of a healthy vaginal environment.
As part of the natural cell renewal of the superficial vaginal skin, Replens™ gradually detaches from the vaginal skin within approximately 3 days. Replens™ is expelled with vaginal secretions and dead vaginal cells as part of this natural process. The result is more elastic and supple vaginal skin.

 

Do many women suffer from vaginal dryness and the associated symptoms such as itching, burning, or discomfort during intercourse?
Vaginal dryness occurs very frequently and is not always age-related. It most commonly occurs in women before and after menopause. However, it can also occur in breastfeeding mothers, in women receiving certain drug therapies, and after a hysterectomy. Many cancer patients, in particular, suffer from vaginal dryness as a side effect due to chemotherapy or radiation.
Itching, burning, and discomfort during intercourse are common symptoms of prolonged vaginal dryness - especially in older age.

Does Replens™ interfere with sexual activity?
Replens™ is water-based and is therefore suitable for use with condoms made of (natural rubber) latex and polyisoprene, but not polyurethane. 
The simultaneously increased lubricity when using Replens™ generally makes an additional lubricant unnecessary.
Please note that Replens™ does not contain a spermicidal agent. Accordingly, it can be assumed that fertility is not reduced.

What can cause vaginal dryness and the associated symptoms such as itching, burning, and discomfort during intercourse?
The cause is a lack of natural moisture in the vagina. The amount of moisture is controlled by the hormone estrogen. With low estrogen levels, as naturally occurs during menopause, it is common for both the inner and outer vaginal areas to become dry. This can lead to symptoms such as itching, burning, and discomfort during intercourse.

What substances does Replens™ contain and what is the effect of the "bioadhesive gel formulation"?
Replens™ contains patented ingredients that provide soothing and long-lasting moisture.
Replens is free of parabens, fragrances, colorants, and deodorants.
The bioadhesive gel formulation ensures that Replens™ can adhere to the vaginal skin like a moisturizing protective film. Within approximately 3 days, Replens™ is expelled with vaginal secretions as part of natural cell renewal.

What side effects are possible?
In some cases, a whitish discharge, which may be dry or crumbly, may occur a few days after starting initial treatment with Replens™.
Naturally, the vagina cleanses itself. However, if it has been dry for a certain period, dead cells can accumulate. Replens adheres to these cells and carries them out with the vaginal secretion. With continued treatment, the vaginal environment and thus the discharge normalize.


The medical device Replens™ Vaginal Gel is awarded the green AUROSAN seal because only the exact amount of the product needed for a (sterile) application is supplied. This means that little or no unusable residue is left after application.
