Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?

Instructions for Use (IFU) generally provide information on recommended strains and quality controls from manufacturers. If you have any questions or require assistance, Instructions for Use please contact us. We are happy to help and provide you with a non-binding offer.

Are reference strains subject to approval?

The requirement for approval when using reference strains in a medical laboratory, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. Therefore, we recommend an informal notification to the supervisory authority responsible for you, e.g., the district government.

Do I have to repurchase the strains regularly?

You have the option to either (1) subculture the strains yourself using a cryopreservation method (freezing and re-growth of the stock cultures) and store them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g., Cryobank® System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to subculture the strains yourself but want to repurchase them after use, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™ .
