Enterococcus casseliflavus ATCC 700327 KWIK STIK (6)
Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?
As a rule, the instructions for use (IFU) provide information on the recommended strains and quality controls from the manufacturers. If you have any questions or need help with this, please contact us. We are happy to help and provide you with a non-binding offer.
Is the handling of reference strains subject to approval?
The requirement for approval when using reference strains in the medical laboratory, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. We therefore recommend that you informally report this to your responsible supervisory authority, e.g., the district government.
Do I have to repurchase the strains regularly?
You have the option of either (1) subculturing the strains yourself using a cryopreservation method (freezing and regrowth of the stock cultures) and storing them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g., Cryobank® System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to subculture the strains yourself but want to repurchase them after consumption, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™.
Application videos on how to handle the reference germs and how to set up the cryobank can be found in our "Self-study" section under Self-study" at www.aurosan.de
We have also compiled a further overview on the topic "Reference strains for internal quality control" for you in our Info Memo.
