They are equipped with an integral balloon, which means the shaft has no caliber jump. This prevents painful compressions of the fascia during insertion. The tip is short and centrally open. For radiological visualization, there is an X-ray contrast strip on the catheter. Furthermore, these are MRI-compatible.
