Campylobacter jejuni ATCC 33560 KWIK STIK (2)
Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?
As a rule, the instructions for use (IFU) provide information on the recommended strains and quality controls from the manufacturers. If you have any questions or need help with this, please contact us at Profile of the reference germ . We will be happy to help you and provide you with a non-binding offer.
Is handling reference strains subject to approval?
A permit requirement for the use of reference strains in medical laboratories, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. Therefore, we recommend an informal notification to the responsible supervisory authority, e.g. the district government.
Do I have to buy the strains regularly?
You have the option of either (1) reproducing the strains yourself using a cryopreservation method (freezing and re-growing the stock cultures) and storing them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g. Cryobank® System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to reproduce the strains yourself but want to buy them again after use, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™ .
Application videos on handling the reference germs and setting up the cryobank can be found in our " Self-study " section at www.aurosan.de
We have also compiled a further overview on the topic of "Reference strains for internal quality control" for you in our Info Memo .
