Biolito is an affordable digital stimulator for incontinence therapy with an additional pain program.
In addition to the presets, an individual program setup – divided into up to 5 phases – is possible according to your own wishes/requirements.
The pelvic floor muscles are regularly electrically stimulated (trained). As a result, Biolito helps in the treatment of certain forms of incontinence:
- In stress incontinence, the muscle groups belonging to the closing mechanism are no longer fully functional. When pressure increases (e.g., due to sneezing, coughing, laughing, or physical exertion), urine loss occurs even without the urge to urinate.
- In urge incontinence, the closing mechanism of the bladder and urethra is usually fully functional. Often, the bladder involuntarily contracts, which cannot be consciously suppressed. This is referred to as an overactive bladder muscle. The urge to urinate is no longer controllable, and the bladder's pressure becomes so strong that it overcomes the resistance of the healthy sphincter system.
- In a mixed form of stress and urge incontinence, there is both a weakness of the sphincter system and an overactive bladder muscle.
- In fecal incontinence, there is a disturbance in the function of the rectal closure system (external anal sphincter). A controllable release of bowel contents is no longer possible. In this case, rectal probes are used for locally optimized impulse delivery.
