Aspergillus fum. ATCC 204305 KWIK STIK (2)
Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?
As a rule, the instructions for use (IFU) provide information on the recommended strains and quality controls from the manufacturers. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us. We will be happy to help you and provide you with a non-binding offer.
Are reference strains subject to approval?
A permit requirement for the use of reference strains in medical laboratories, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. We therefore recommend that you make an informal report to the supervisory authority responsible for you, e.g. the district government.
Do I have to repurchase the strains regularly?
You have the option to either (1) re-culture the strains yourself using a cryo-procedure (freezing and regrowth of the stock cultures) and store them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g. Cryobank® System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to recultivate the strains yourself but want to repurchase them after use, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™ .
Application videos on how to handle the reference germs and how to set up the cryobank can be found in our " Self-Study " section at www.aurosan.de
We have also compiled a further overview on the topic of "Reference strains for internal quality control" for you in our info memo .
