7ml Bijou containers, PS/PE, simple label (700 pieces)
These 7ml bijou containers with screw caps are manufactured from virgin non-cytotoxic polystyrene or polypropylene. The bijou containers are CE marked in accordance with the European Directive 98/79/EC and are for in vitro use only.
These single-use plastic specimen containers have undergone process validation to ensure they are leakproof at a differential pressure of at least 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi). The specimen containers have been tested in accordance with the following procedure as per US Standard Department of Transportation Code Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49, Parts 100–185 (October 2011 edition): Primary receptacle or secondary packaging used for infectious substances must be capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure that produces a pressure differential of not less than 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi).
The detailed procedure is as follows:
1. Mark all samples with numbers ready for testing.
2. Fill all containers to at least 98% with coloured carbonated fluid.
3. Place the containers in the vacuum chamber/vessel and set the vacuum to 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi) for 10 minutes. During the process, a visual inspection will be performed for individual or streaming bubbles, and the finding recorded.
4. After 10 minutes, remove all samples and place them upside down on a surface covered with white table protection and check for any leakage of coloured carbonated fluid. Any leakage is regarded as a failure and will be rejected.
Passing this test means that these universal containers are suitable for specimen transport under UN3373 packing instruction when combined with suitable secondary packaging (Specisafe SH0900SS) or a 95kPa bag (FS95-C5) or with a secondary and tertiary packaging system (RF95-LL1).
This bijou is made from polystyrene with a polypropylene screw cap and a plain label. These bijous are supplied sterile and are suitable for use with a variety of small quantity samples.
