7ml Bijou Cont PS Boric Acid Printed Label (700 pcs.)
These 7ml bijou containers with screw caps are manufactured from virgin non-cytotoxic polystyrene or polypropylene. The bijou containers are CE-marked in accordance with the European Directive 98/79/EC and are for in-vitro use only.
These disposable plastic specimen containers have undergone process validation to ensure they are leak-proof at a pressure differential of not less than 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi). The specimen containers have been tested in accordance with the following procedure as per the US Standard Department of Transportation Code Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49, Parts 100–185 (October 2011 edition): The primary receptacle or secondary packaging used for infectious substances must be capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure producing a pressure differential of not less than 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi).
The detailed procedure is as follows:
1. Mark all samples with numbers ready for testing.
2. Fill all containers to at least 98% capacity with coloured carbonated liquid.
3. Place the containers in the vacuum chamber/vessel and apply the vacuum at 95 kPa (0.95 bar, 14 psi) for 10 minutes. During the process, a visual inspection will be performed for single or streaming bubbles, and the finding recorded.
4. After 10 minutes, remove all samples, place them upside down on a surface covered with white bench protection, and inspect for any leakage of coloured carbonated liquid. Any leakage is considered a failure and will be rejected.
Passing this test means that these universal containers are suitable for sample transport in accordance with UN3373 packing instruction when combined with an appropriate secondary packaging (Specisafe SH0900SS) or a 95kPa bag (FS95-C5) or with a secondary and tertiary packaging system (RF95-LL1).
This bijou is made from polystyrene with a polypropylene screw cap and a printed label. These bijous are supplied sterile and are suitable for use with a variety of small sample volumes. This bijou is ideal for use with urine samples as it is pre-filled with boric acid (0.4g) which preserves and stabilises urine samples.
