Protein Rapid Test - semi-quantitative detection
The RDG-Sensor Protein is a simple, routine detection method for protein residues on the surfaces of medical instruments / medical devices.
After the cleaning and disinfection device (CDD) has run its cycle, the surface to be tested is carefully and as broadly as possible swabbed with the swab. The swab is then rinsed in the reagent solution for approx. 5 seconds by rotating and immersing it multiple times. The evaluation is carried out immediately, but no later than 10 minutes, by reading the color of the reagent solution: - Discoloration of the reagent solution to BLUE: reliable indication of protein residues
- No discoloration of the originally BROWN reagent solution: no contamination with proteins above the detection limit of 1 microgram.
(Note: The swab always turns BLUE during evaluation.)
Storage: +2°C - +8°C
For flexible cystoscopes that need to be manually reprocessed, the recommendations of KRINKO, RKI and BfArM also apply:
"Requirements for Hygiene in the Reprocessing of Medical Devices" (Bundesgesundheitsblatt 2012; 55:1244-1310).
This document requires periodic routine testing of the cleaning result (e.g. daily, or weekly) according to manufacturer specifications.
