BD Trypticase™ Soy Agar (TSA, Soybean Casein Digest Agar Medium) is a non-selective medium that promotes the growth of non-fastidious and moderately fastidious microorganisms. The medium should not be used for fastidious anaerobes.
BD Trypticase™ Soy Agar with Lecithin and Polysorbate 80 is used to detect microorganisms that may survive treatment of surfaces and materials with antiseptics. The media are gamma-sterilized after aseptic filling, thus enabling reliable monitoring of environmental and product hygiene as well as disinfection efficiency in cleanrooms, e.g. in pharmaceutical production, filling rooms and isolators.
All IC-XT products are packaged in impervious plastic films to prevent dehydration and maintain sterility.
The media should be stored at 2–25 °C.
