The Thoma-neu graticule corresponds in its central (counting) field to the Neubauer-improved graticule. The difference is that in the Thoma-neu counting grid, the four corner fields are not present. Therefore, this graticule is only suitable for counting erythrocytes, but not for leukocytes.
