Due to the special composition of the Prontosan® products, the wound surface is thoroughly cleaned, biofilm and debris are removed, and the wound bed is kept permanently moist.

Prontosan® Wound Irrigation Solution and Prontosan® Wound Gel contain Polihexanide for preservation against germ growth and Undecylenamidopropyl Betaine as a surfactant.

Undecylenamidopropyl Betaine is a particularly high-quality surfactant with excellent cleansing properties and good skin tolerability.

Polihexanide effectively inhibits germ growth and serves as a preservative after the bottle is opened. The particularly effective combination of these two ingredients dissolves biofilm and enables excellent wound cleansing, which leads to a significant reduction in wound healing time.
