Peptostrept. anaerobius ATCC 27337 KWIK STIK (2)
Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?
As a general rule, the instructions for use (IFU) provide information on the recommended strains and quality controls from the manufacturers. If you have any questions or need help, please contact us. We are happy to help and provide you with a non-binding offer.
Is handling reference strains subject to approval?
There is no clear regulation on whether the use of reference strains in medical laboratories, limited to the purpose of quality management for your in-vitro diagnostics, requires approval. Therefore, we recommend that you informally notify your responsible supervisory authority, e.g. the regional government.
Do I have to reorder the strains regularly?
You have the option to either (1) re-cultivate the strains yourself using a cryo-procedure (freezing and re-growth of the stock cultures) and store them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g. Cryobank® System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to re-cultivate the strains yourself but want to reorder them after consumption, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™.
Application videos on handling reference germs and setting up the cryobank can be found in our "Self-study" section at www.aurosan.de
We have also compiled a further overview on "Reference strains for internal quality control" in our Info-Memo.
