The NMP22 BladderCheck rapid test qualitatively detects NuMA protein (nuclear mitotic apparatus) in urine using an immunoassay.
NuMA protein is an excess component of nuclear matrix protein (NMP22). NMP22 is present as nuclear matrix protein 22 in all cells. Bladder cancer cells release NMP22 into the urine, consequently, the analysis of NMP22 concentration can be used for early detection of bladder cancer.
