Micrococcus yunnanensis ATCC 7468 KWIK STIK (2)
Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?
As a rule, the instructions for use (IFU) provide information on the manufacturer's recommended strains and quality controls. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us. We will be happy to help you and provide you with a non-binding offer.
Is handling reference strains subject to approval?
The requirement for approval when using reference strains in a medical laboratory, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. Therefore, we recommend that you informally notify the competent supervisory authority, e.g. the district government.
Do I have to repurchase the strains regularly?
You have the option of either (1) re-cultivating the strains yourself using a cryopreservation method (freezing and regrowth of the stock cultures) and storing them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g., the Cryobank® system).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to re-cultivate the strains yourself but want to repurchase them after use, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™.
Application videos on handling the reference germs and setting up the cryobank can be found in our "Self-Study" section here at www.aurosan.de
We have also compiled a further overview on "Reference strains for internal quality control" for you in our Info Memo.
