The Bactiguard™ coated transurethral catheters, which have been clinically proven to significantly reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTI, CAUTI), have now been re-approved from MDD to MDR and are available again.
There are now two variants:
Bardex I.C. Latex Core with Bactiguard™ Coating
and
Lubri-Sil I.C. Silicone Core with Bactiguard™ Coating
The I.C. stands for "Infection Control", meaning the clinically proven reduction of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTI, CAUTI) mentioned above.
The catheters are coated with Bactiguard™ both internally and externally and additionally provided with a hydrophilic top layer.
