Lubri--Sil I.C. Silicone Cath. Bactiguard™ coated; 24 CH Nel, 3 Lu, 30 ml, 40cm (12 pcs)
Bactiguard™ is available again!
The Bactiguard™ coated transurethral catheters, which lead to a clinically comprehensively proven reduction in catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTI, CAUTI), have now been re-approved from MDD to MDR and are available again.
There are now two variants:
Bardex I.C. Latex core with Bactiguard™ coating
and
Lubri-Sil I.C. Silicone core with Bactiguard™ coating
The I.C. stands for "Infection Control" meaning the above clinically proven reduction in catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTI, CAUTI).
The catheters are coated both inside and outside with Bactiguard™ and additionally provided with a hydrophilic top layer.
The Bactiguard® technology is based on a wafer-thin layer of a precious metal alloy (gold, silver, and platinum components) that is firmly bonded to the catheter surface. In contact with fluid (urine), the precious metals create a galvanic effect that reduces microbial adhesion. The reduced adhesion of bacteria to the catheter surface reduces biofilm formation and thus the risk of bacterial urinary tract infections.
The Bactiguard® coating is firmly bonded to the catheter core, so that no release of toxic or pharmacologically active substances in relevant quantities occurs.
The catheters are supplied in packaging units of 12 and can also be prescribed as practice supplies in some health insurance associations.
They can be obtained directly from AUROSAN, or through pharmaceutical wholesalers, pharmacies, and medical supply stores.
We would be happy to advise you, inform you about the clinical data, and explain how to access the Bactiguard™-coated transurethral catheters Bardex I.C. or Lubri-Sil I.C.
