Lubri-Sil I.C. Silicone Cath. Bactiguard™ Coated; 16 CH Nel, 3 Lu, 10 ml, 40cm (12 pcs)
Bactiguard™ is back in stock!
The Bactiguard™ coated transurethral catheters, which have been clinically proven to significantly reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTI, CAUTI), have now been switched from MDD to MDR approval and are available again.
There are now two variants:
Bardex I.C. latex core with Bactiguard™ coating
and
Lubri-Sil I.C. silicone core with Bactiguard™ coating
The I.C. stands for "Infection Control", i.e., the clinically proven reduction of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (UTI, CAUTI).
The catheters are coated with Bactiguard™ both internally and externally , and additionally provided with a hydrophilic top layer.
Bactiguard® technology is based on a wafer-thin layer of a noble metal alloy (gold, silver, and platinum components), which is firmly bonded to the catheter surface. In contact with liquid (urine), the noble metals generate a galvanic effect that reduces microbial adhesion. The reduced adhesion of bacteria to the catheter surface reduces biofilm formation and thus the risk of bacterial urinary tract infections.
The Bactiguard® coating is firmly bonded to the catheter core, so that no toxic or pharmacologically active substances are released in relevant quantities.
The catheters are supplied in packaging units of 12 and can also be prescribed in some KV areas as practice supplies.
They can be obtained either directly from AUROSAN, or through pharmaceutical wholesalers or pharmacies and medical supply stores.
We would be happy to advise you, provide you with information on the clinical data, and explain how to access the Bactiguard™-coated transurethral catheters Bardex I.C. or Lubri-Sil I.C.
