These caps allow for leak-proof use of Kova® tubes (sold separately) for transport and storage. This prevents aerosol formation during centrifugation and possible contamination of laboratory personnel by potentially infectious samples.
Opening the cap is facilitated by a flip tab that covers one-third of the cap's circumference.
