This rapid test is used to identify H. pylori infection (also known as Campylobacter pylori) from blood samples.
H.p. are bacteria that colonize the gastric mucosa and play a role in the pathogenesis of type B gastritis, gastric lesions, and the majority of stomach ulcers and practically all duodenal ulcers.
Chronic H. pylori infection is a risk factor for the development of gastric carcinoma and MALT lymphoma.
In case of infection, eradication therapy is necessary to eliminate the bacteria.
This H. pylori test is a rapid (10 min.) chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of H. pylori antibodies in whole blood (capillary/venous), serum, or plasma.
