Rapid test for the detection of hCG
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the developing placenta immediately after fertilization. In normal pregnancies, hCG can be detected as early as 7-10 days after fertilization. hCG levels rise continuously and very rapidly. Levels of 100 mIU/ml are often exceeded after the first missed period and reach up to 100,000 - 200,000 mIU/ml after 10-12 weeks of pregnancy.
The presence of hCG during early pregnancy makes it an excellent marker for determining pregnancies.
These hCG pregnancy tests are rapid immunochromatographic tests for the qualitative determination of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in human urine from a concentration of 25 mIU/ml.
