The Esaote MyLab E80 is a high-end ultrasound system that, depending on the scope of the license, can be used for all medical specialties.
It supports transducer frequencies up to 25 MHz and offers a wide selection of excellent probes.
For urological use, since April 2026, there has been the option to cost-effectively upgrade the hardware and software for "GTS indications" = Guided Therapies, including data fusion of MRI and ultrasound ("Urofusion"). (E80 + GTS package ~ E85GTS (without prostate map))
This allows practitioners to acquire the device for daily practice and then activate or add the upgrade as needed to perform prostate biopsies.
Key features that also positively distinguish the system from the competition:
-works with monoplanar or (better) biplanar probes;
-works freehand or template-guided
-works with transrectal or (better) perineal puncture technique
