FLOQSwab™ Regular (100 flocked swabs)

There are numerous kits for sample collection, consisting of a swab with a breakpoint, a transport vessel, and transport medium.

We favor Copan's flocked swabs, suitable for almost all types of swabs and pathogens.

FLOQSwabs™ (with UTM), eSwabs™ (with Amies transport medium)

Area of application: eyes, nose, nasopharynx, throat, urogenital area, skin, ...

Great care should be taken when collecting samples from the patient, as the success of isolating and identifying pathogens depends on it.
1. Open the swab pouch and remove the sample tube and swab.
2. Perform the swabbing on the patient.
3. Twist and remove the cap of the sample tube. Be careful not to spill the transport medium.
4. Insert the swab into the tube until the red marked breakpoint is level with the tube opening.
5. Break off the swab in the tube and dispose of the broken part, the swab shaft, in an approved medical waste container.
6. Close the sample tube with the cap.
7. Label the sample tube with the patient's data. Send the sample to the analytical laboratory.

In principle: the shorter the time between sample collection and processing, the better the processing succeeds.

Selection of the correct transport media:

UTM:
The "Universal Transport Medium" (UTM™) system is used for collecting and transporting clinical samples that may contain viruses, chlamydiae, mycoplasmas, or ureaplasmas. The UTM™ kit can be used for all common procedures such as virus culture, nucleic acid amplification, and antigen detection.
We carry Copan UTM™ products with various flocked swabs (FLOQSwabs™).

Amies:
Universal transport medium for collecting and transporting clinical samples containing aerobes, anaerobes, fastidious bacteria, viruses, and chlamydiae. Suitable for all common clinical laboratory procedures such as microbiological culture of aerobes, anaerobes and fastidious organisms, as well as antigen and nucleic acid detection of bacteria, viruses, and chlamydiae.
We carry Copan eSwabs™ products with various flocked swabs (FLOQSwabs™).

Copan FLOQSwabs™ applicator sticks are sterile, ready-to-use systems for collecting clinical samples. The swabs are suitable for short-term contact with the human body. The product must be used according to the instructions. 

Alternatively, we offer other swabs or applicator sticks such as eSwab™ or Copan Liquid Amies Elution Swab as a universal swabbing and transport system for aerobic, anaerobic, and fastidious bacteria.

From eSwab™ samples, bacterial cultures can be created in the laboratory, and antigen detection and PCR procedures can be performed. The liquid transport medium allows for sample division and thus the performance of multiple tests from the same sample.
