Defibtech Lifeline AED 2nd Gen.
The second-generation Lifeline SG AED is a semi-automatic defibrillator. If a shock is needed, the device prompts the user to press a button to deliver the electric shock. This allows the helper to control the timing of the shock delivery (e.g., to ensure no one is touching the patient).
Weighing 1.9 kilograms (including battery), the device is relatively light. It responds quickly to user actions and takes a maximum of four seconds to prepare a defibrillation shock. The AED is designed to be user-friendly and requires minimal maintenance. An optimized self-test protocol checks the functionality of the battery and electrodes daily. A separate 9-volt battery is integrated for these regular tests, thus preserving the main battery.
The device can be operated in three pre-set languages: German, English, and French.
Note: The MPBetreibV (Medical Device Operator Ordinance) applicable in Germany mandates device instruction and safety technical inspections (STK) at 2-year intervals for medical devices.
