The Styrofoam box is a spare part for the Cryoblock for 18 Tubes.
The cryoblock with Styrofoam casing is used for the safe transport of inoculated and frozen cryotubes from the freezer to the workstation and protects against thawing of the tubes during this time. This way, tubes remain deep-frozen and cells stable even after 45 minutes of transport. Without the use of the cryoblock, the cells thaw after just 3 minutes.
