Clostridium perfringens ATCC 13124 KWIK STIK (2)
Which reference strains do you need for internal quality control?
As a rule, the instructions for use (IFU) provide information on the recommended strains and quality controls from the manufacturers. If you have any questions or need help with this, please contact us . We are happy to help and provide you with a non-binding offer.
Is handling reference strains subject to approval?
The requirement for approval when using reference strains in the medical laboratory, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. Therefore, we recommend that you informally report this to the competent supervisory authority, e.g. the district government.
Do I have to repurchase the strains regularly?
You have the option of either (1) re-cultivating the strains yourself using a cryo-procedure (freezing and re-growth of the stock cultures) and storing them long-term. For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g. Cryobank® System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to re-cultivate the strains yourself, but want to repurchase them after consumption, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™ .
Application videos on handling the reference cultures and setting up the cryobank can be found in our " Self-study " section at www.aurosan.de
We have also compiled a further overview on the topic of "Reference strains for internal quality control" for you in our info memo .
