Rapid test for the qualitative detection of chlamydia antigen in urine samples and urethral swabs from men, and cervical swabs from women.
The obligate intracellular Chlamydia trachomatis is the most common cause of sexually transmitted diseases worldwide. Complications of chlamydia infection in women include cervicitis, urethritis, endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, an increased incidence of ectopic pregnancies, and infertility.
In men, urethritis and epididymitis are the most common consequences of chlamydia infections.
Antigen detection allows for the identification of asymptomatic carriers, to prevent further spread through targeted therapy.
