PLEASE NOTE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HANDLING REFERENCE STRAINS! Which reference strains do you need?
As a rule, the instructions for use provide information on the recommended strains and quality controls from the manufacturers. If you have any questions or need help with this, please call us. We will be happy to help you and provide you with a non-binding offer. You will also receive the ATCC End User Agreement, which regulates the conditions for the use of the reference strains.
Is the handling of reference strains subject to approval?
A permit requirement for the use of reference strains in medical laboratories, limited to the purpose of quality management of your in-vitro diagnostics, is not clearly regulated. Therefore, we recommend an informal notification to your responsible supervisory authority, e.g. the district government.
Do I have to repurchase the strains regularly?
You have the option to either (1) re-culture the strains yourself and store them long-term - with the cryo method mentioned above (freezing and re-growth of the stock cultures).
For this, we recommend KWIK-STIK™ combined with a storage system (e.g. Cryobank™ System).
Alternatively (2), if you do not want to re-culture the strains yourself, but want to repurchase them after use, you can choose between LYFO DISK™ and Microtrol™.
Microtol™ is used, for example, as a control for our culture media.
