5.0 ml round bottom cryotubes (100 pcs)

Alpha is designed for the safe storage of biological material, as well as human or animal cells at extremely low temperatures and has three CE-marked series of cryogenic storage vials.
All products in this range are certified free of RNase, DNase, pyrogens and DNA. Alpha Laboratories cryovials are available in either self-standing or round bottom format. All types feature an internal rounded base for easy removal of samples.

Robust vial and closure – a special grade of polypropylene is used to make all of our vials, chosen for its consistent strength. This means that both the vial and cap can withstand the harsh temperature of liquid nitrogen in the vapour phase of -196°C and the thick wall makes the vial virtually unbreakable.
Please note they are not suitable for use in the liquid phase.


Secure seal – cap and tube are manufactured from the same material so they shrink and expand simultaneously with changes in temperature, ensuring an equally secure seal at both room temperature and low deep-freeze temperatures.
Quick open/close – 1 ¼ turns is all that is required to securely seal the cap. This is important when large numbers of vials are being used as it saves time and reduces the risk of the cap not being securely closed.

Easy one-handed operation – all self-standing vials, when used with a workstation (LW3400B or LW3400R), allow for vials to be unscrewed with one hand. Vertical ribs make the cap easy to remove.
Clear graduations – in 100 µl intervals, to make it easy to read your sample volume.

Large white writing area – for sample identification and identification.
Tubes can be colour coded with a cap insert (LW3339 series) and are compatible with most storage systems. Cap inserts are available in 11 different colours. Cap inserts are not compatible with LW3439.
Only round bottom vials can be centrifuged at up to 17,000 g.
Sterile – all vials are gamma irradiated to ensure absolute sterility.
Certified free of RNase, DNase, pyrogens, human DNA and metals.
Supplied in tamper-evident, re-sealable bags – clean and sterile.

The Classic range
- designed for basic safety
The internal thread with silicone washer between the cap and vial ensures a leak-proof seal at all temperatures. Designed to improve safety compared to standard screw-cap microcentrifuge tubes.
"The Classic" uses a square-cross-section washer that is tightly compressed between the cap and the top of the tube wall, providing a secure, leak-proof seal at all temperatures.
