30 ml Universal/Boric Acid PS/PP Label Sterile (400 pcs.)
Manufactured from virgin, non-cytotoxic polystyrene or polypropylene. These 30ml universal containers are CE marked in accordance with the European Directive 98/79/EC. For in vitro use only. The unique leak tight cap ensures an exceptional leak tight seal.
These plastic disposable specimen containers have undergone process validation to ensure they are leak proof at a pressure differential of not less than 95kPa (0.95bar, 14psi). Specimen containers have been tested in accordance with the following procedure, as per the US standard Department of Transportation Code Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49, Parts 100-185 (October 2011 Edition): The primary receptacle or secondary packaging used for infectious substances must be capable of withstanding, without leakage, an internal pressure producing a pressure differential of not less than 95kPa (0.95bar, 14psi).
The detailed procedure is as follows:
1. Mark all specimens with numbers ready for testing;
2. Fill all containers to at least 98% capacity with coloured carbonated liquid.
3. Place containers into the vacuum chamber/vessel, and apply vacuum at 95kPa (0.95bar, 14psi) for 10 minutes. During the process a visual inspection for individual or streaming bubbles is performed and the finding recorded.
4. After 10 minutes remove all samples, place upside down on a surface covered with white bench protection, and check for any leakage of coloured carbonated liquid. Any leakage is considered a failure and will be rejected.
Passing this test means that these universal containers, in combination with the appropriate secondary (Specisafe SH0600SS or SH1400SS) and tertiary packaging (SH1000 or SH1200) and labelling, are suitable for specimen transport in accordance with UN3373 packing instruction.
This universal container is manufactured from polystyrene with a polypropylene screw cap and a printed label. Supplied sterile. This universal container is ideal for use with urine samples as it is pre-filled with Boric Acid (0.4g) which preserves and stabilises urine samples.
