APEX® screw cap microcentrifuge tubes are ideal for sample collection, processing, and storage. These freestanding, versatile, and durable tubes are made from high-clarity, medical-grade polypropylene and are designed for use in various laboratory environments. The APEX® 2.0mL graduated screw cap tube with a rimmed bottom is 44.45mm tall and has an opening with an outer diameter of 10.41mm and an inner diameter of 8.64mm. To more accurately estimate sample volume, the scale is graduated in 100µL increments. It is compatible with the APEX® Standard Screw-Cap, the APEX® Tethered Screw-Cap, and the APEX® SafeGrip Screw-Cap, which are available in various colors and can be ordered separately. For benchtop work or secure and long-term storage of tubes in the freezer, a wide selection of racks is also available. The tubes and caps are made from the same material and exhibit the same coefficients of expansion to ensure uniform expansion and contraction rates during temperature changes. The tubes can be centrifuged at up to 20,000 x g and are suitable for use in a temperature range of -196 °C to 121 °C, making them suitable for cooking applications and storage of frozen samples. However, they should not be submerged in liquid nitrogen. APEX® screw cap microcentrifuge tubes are certified free of RNase, DNase, and DNA. Sterile versions are gamma-irradiated and certified pyrogen-free. They come in a pack of 500.
