APEX® Screw Cap Microcentrifuge Tubes are ideal for sample collection, processing, and storage. These versatile and durable conical bottom tubes are manufactured from high-clarity, medical-grade polypropylene and are designed for use in various laboratory environments. The APEX® 0.5 mL Conical Bottom Graduated Screw Cap Tube is 39.88 mm in height with an opening 10.41 mm in outer diameter and 8.38 mm in inner diameter. For more accurate estimation of sample volumes, the graduation is marked in 100-µl increments. It is compatible with the APEX® Standard Screw-Cap, APEX® Tethered Screw-Cap and the APEX® SafeGrip Screw-Cap, which are available in a variety of colors and can be ordered separately. A wide range of racks is also available for benchtop work or for secure, long-term freezer storage of tubes. The tubes and caps are made from the same material and exhibit the same coefficients of expansion to ensure consistent expansion and contraction rates through changes in temperature. Tubes can be centrifuged at up to 20,000 x g and are rated for use in a temperature range of -196 °C to 121 °C, making them suitable for boiling applications and frozen storage of samples; however, they should not be submerged in liquid nitrogen. APEX® Screw Cap Microcentrifuge Tubes are certified RNase, DNase, and DNA free. Sterile versions are gamma irradiated and certified pyrogen free. They are supplied in a pack of 500.
