Information on co-payments and hardship clauses for patients*
Medicinal products and dressings:
10% of the dispensing price or per medicinal product or dressing, min. €5, max. €10, not exceeding the cost of the product¹.
Inpatient hospital treatments:
€10 per day, limited to 28 days per calendar year².
Therapeutic remedies:
10% of the cost per application plus €10 per prescription form³.
Medical aids:
10% of the cost, min. €5, max. €10, not exceeding the cost of the medical aid⁴.
Outpatient rehabilitation measures in rehabilitation centers/facilities:
€10 per treatment day, limited to 28 days per calendar year for post-hospitalization rehabilitation⁵.
Inpatient preventive care and rehabilitation:
€10 per calendar day, limited to 28 days per calendar year for follow-up treatment⁵.
Medical rehabilitation for mothers and fathers:
€10 per calendar year⁵.
Home health care:
10% of the costs, limited to 28 days per calendar year plus €10 per prescription⁶.
Sociotherapy and household help:
10% of the daily costs, min. €5, max. €10⁷.
The hardship clause:
The hardship clause is calculated based on your annual gross income used to cover living expenses. All co-payments are taken into account for reaching the hardship clause. Annual co-payments should not exceed 2% of the annual gross income⁸. Chronically ill patients only have to pay 1% of their annual gross income in co-payments⁸.
