The urine sediment examination is a component of the gold standard in the urine laboratory and, in combination with urine chemistry, allows conclusions to be drawn about diseases not only of the urogenital tract, but also about other organs and their metabolism such as the liver.
A complete examination starting with urine centrifugation, sediment collection, possibly staining, microscopy, through to documentation not only requires a lot of consumables, but above all a lot of time and a lot of experience on the part of the user. Time is usually not paid for, so it makes sense to digitally transfer a complex manual process that is easy to automate.
