product description
Endo-Agar is a partially selective differentiation growth media for the identification of coliform bacteria and other enterobacterales from clinical specimen. The selectivity of Endo-Agar is based on the combination of sodium sulfate and basic fuchsin which leads to partial growth inhibition of gram positive bacteria. During lactose fermentation, coliform bacteria appear as dark rose to red colonies with metallic-green shine and similar coloring of the media. Colonies of not lactose fermenting bacteria appear colorless to rose with the media remaining light rose, as well. For quality control you may use e.g. E. coli ATCC 25922 Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 Manufacturer: BD delivered as (1 sku): 500g dry powder for reconstitution
