Transurethral catheters
A transurethral catheter (TUK) is inserted into the urinary bladder through the urethra. A temporary artificial drainage of urine can be done passively if the patient can no longer urinate independently. This can be the case, for example, with urination disorders, an enlarged prostate, urinary retention due to medication, urinary tract infections or after operations.
A transurethral urinary catheter can also be used for diagnostic reasons or for therapeutic purposes (flushing the urinary bladder, introducing medication).
Depending on the dwelling time, a distinction is made between single-use and indwelling catheters, which are available in different materials (100% medical silicone, sandwich silicone elastomer, siliconized latex, PVC).
In addition to our catheter program, we also offer various catheter accessories and incontinence articles, such as our optiLube ™ medical lubricants or various catheter valves, straps, urine bags, guide wires and much more.
