When testing pH, the strips produce a permanent color change, even when left in place, e.g. when testing solutions with low ionic strength. An immediate result is obtained by comparing the color of the four test zones with the enclosed pH color chart. The pH color chart corresponds exactly to both the color and the position of the pads on the strips. The results are easy to interpret and can be reliably determined, as the pH gradations are in 0.3 increments. The pH indicator strips are suitable for many applications, both in the laboratory and in the field. They have the advantage over other methods of pH measurement that they do not require any additional equipment compared to liquid test kits and digital meters.
