The tubes and caps are made from the same material and share the same coefficients of expansion to ensure consistent rates of expansion and contraction with temperature changes. The tubes can be centrifuged at up to 20,000 x g and are rated for use in a temperature range from -196 °C to 121 °C, making them suitable for boiling applications and frozen sample storage.
